The Prodigal Son Mk4 is the first saber in the world to feature our Collet Lock Blade System, the most rigid and secure blade retention system on the planet. 

The Collet Lock Blade System requires no set screws and uses standard blades, it provides 360 degrees of clamping force on the blade resulting in far better blade retention than traditional blade sockets with set screws.

The Prodigal Son Mk4 has a polished chrome finish with copper and black accents. It features an activation box with red/green lit arrows and black details. The activation box has a magnetic control card that conceals the switches and recharge port (when needed). The Prodigal Son features a tri-ring attached to the pommel for clipping to your belt. An exclusive Prodigal Son chrome blade plug is included with every Prodigal Son Mk4

Collet Lock Blade System: A collet is a machined metal sleeve with slits that compresses to securely hold a cylinder when two housings are threaded together, it was developed for high speed machining where retention of cylindrical metal bits under extremely high torque and speed is required. We took the tried and true concept of a machining collet and adapted it to work with polycarbonate blades. Simply unthread the emitter cap a few turns to loosen the collet, slide the blade into the blade holder, then thread the emitter cap down snugly to tighten the collet down onto the blade. 

Due to the thin neck, these are designed for light to medium dueling only

    Expected better for the money and long wait

    Prodigal Son - Hero Pixel
    Sent an American charger so needed an adapter. I’d heard that other Australian customers had received the correct charger so I was very annoyed that I didn’t receive one also.
    Saber is stuck at 20% charge and I’m worried that the charge port is faulty. I’m not keen on the idea of sending it back to the other side of the planet for repairs.
    The D ring is very poor quality indeed. It came off in a day and I had to put solder on it to stop it sliding around and coming off again.
    Very sharp edges on the switch box sliced my hand open and needed to be filed down for safety. Tiny little switch is hard to use and the magnetic switch cover needs to be removed and put into your pocket to switch the saber on. It can’t be operated with the movie accurate part attached.

    Would give five but the plate over the operating switch did not fit right and I had to fix for it to even stay on the saber. I have to remove the cover to operate. Other than this, very well done!

    This saber is amazing

    First impressions of recieving this saber were beyond my expectations. This saber is beautifully machined and even with the blade in its considerably light and easy to wield . The blade is also very easy to remove so that the hilt can be displayed separately if you desire. If you're a big star wars fan like myself you definitely will not be disappointed with this saber

    Our saber blades (Excluding Pixel blades) are rated for full contact dueling. Capable of withstanding heavy dueling, even against kendo bokkens, and nylon hema wasters. During the machining process, some sabers may develop sharp edges. Before any contact dueling (as with any type of dueling), we recommend wearing proper safety protection for your hands, body and face. This includes but is not limited to: gloves, body armor, face masks, and helmets. Always take the proper safety measures before dueling of any kind.
