First off, want to say that I bought this saber strictly for display; I do not pretend to either compat or cosplay so what I am about to say is relative to your purpose. I may take it every now and then just to swing it around or show it to people but that's it.
Having that said, on the aesthetic part of the saber; it looks gorgeous. I am not sure if it should be smaller or thinner compared to the real prop from the movie, but it looks amazing by itself, it is really a piece of art. I have purchased other sabers from other saber stores, and I have to say this build definitely looks superior. The whole crystal thing is a nice touch also, since this is the first saber I have that has that "extra" coolness.
The sound effects are nice but nothing to write home about. Again, compared to the other sabers I have from other stores, the sounds to the movement of the saber feel way better.
The light color and intensity are also what is expected; very bright, very nice. And here is one of the criticisms I have. I don't know if it is strictly to my saber and is an isolated issue; if it is a QC thing or if it happened during shipping, or if it is related to the "thin neck" design the Obi-wan lightsaber has, but the light flickers a little bit (not sure if this part is intended). If I wiggle the saber around sometimes it turns off while the sound and crystal are stilll on. It gets fixed by tightening or losening a bit the chamber where the crystal is and it turns back on. I am sure this is a simple thing, maybe like a lose contact or something but I am not sending this back as where I live I have to pay to send and receive stuff from the US. I also am not taking the saber apart; like I said, I bought this mainly for display so this is not a huge deal for me, it is just a little disappointing because it was an expensive saber and I ordered this on January and got it until April (althought this part I already knew so that is fine).
My second criticism is the "kill switch" design. The saber comes with a kill switch so that you don't turn it on by mistake or whatever, but it just looks plain ugly. You have to remove the little plate that has a magnet and put in another piece that just kills the way it is supposed to look. For display purposes this is no big deal as it will not turn on if you don't touch it but it just bothers me a little bit. Now, the little plate to cover the part where the kill switch and charging port go, is attached using a small magnet. It is not super strong, nor weak but it is a magnet that I feel can fall of pretty easily. Again, this is not a big deal for me, but is something that maybe others should know.
That's really it. All in all, the saber quality is pretty great, the important part for me is that it looks amazing for display. Like every electronic component, it can have its quirks, in this case is not a big deal but it is important that if you are paying this much you at least get what you want.
