I ordered my saber 8th of August and by the end of October it was at my door step. Each time I see it on its glorious stand I still get excited! Definitely worth the money!
The Ares is a pretty remarkable balance of fantasy design from a seemingly true Galaxy Far Far Away but also the sensible ergonomics of a blade meant for actual dueling. On one hand it looks like a true artifact out of the Old Republic but without extraneous technical doodads that challenge your handling. On the other, it has the heft and balance that inspires confidence in action. It took me a while to choose my saber, but I could not be more satisfied with the Ares or my experience with Oregon’s own Saberforge. Highly recommended.
The saber is high quality, the powder coat arrived with minimal wear in all the expected places. However I cannot recommend this as the Eris does the same job with near exact level of design for far cheaper. If you do want this specific one I recommend the 27” blade as even the 32” is not balanced well. I can’t imagine how bad the longer blade would be.
A truly fantastic saber with a classic but unique look, and a great ergonomic feel. Lots of sabers out there have odd protrusions or other hot spots that make even holding them uncomfortable, let alone swinging them around. This is a BIG saber (the largest available on the site I believe) and it minimizes those uncomfortable bits, so there's plenty of easy-to-use grip available. Keep the handle length in mind when purchasing. 15 inches is a lot of saber. A longer blade might not be the way to go. I found the 32 inch blade when set into the handle gives you almost exactly the same dimensions as a classic katana, so its easy to adapt for kendo practitioners. Yes it takes a while to craft and ship, but there's no doubt that it's worthwhile.
i love my lightsaber it works very well!!!
Our saber blades (Excluding Pixel blades) are rated for full contact dueling. Capable of withstanding heavy dueling, even against kendo bokkens, and nylon hema wasters. During the machining process, some sabers may develop sharp edges. Before any contact dueling (as with any type of dueling), we recommend wearing proper safety protection for your hands, body and face. This includes but is not limited to: gloves, body armor, face masks, and helmets. Always take the proper safety measures before dueling of any kind. Saberforge is not responsible for any injuries that result from saber play, combat choreography or dueling.
