I love the coupler, I can finally take both sabers to cons and still have a free hand. The only downside is the leather wrapped hilt (Elite Cleric Model) now has this jarring metallic fuzz whenever I use it. It’s not too big a deal, I’m sure I can figure a way around it, but if SF or anyone on the forms has a solution I’d love to be able to get this sorted and change my review to a 5 star
Good concept and build. Fitment was really tight which is great in general but combined with the heavy spring I choose makes coupling/decoupling difficult. In order to more smoothly couple/decouple I had to sand down the finish a small amount around the circumference to remove the burrs around the small holes where the pieces collapse into each other.
Would suggest future versions have the edges of the holes broken to remove the burr or just ditch the holes all together.
Thank you for the Feedback!
We found without the holes, the sound from the speaker is muffled and distorted. However, your coupler should not have had any burrs. My apologies for this issue! Again, thank you for the feedback, it will be shared with our inspection staff to watch this a little more closely for this issue.
I opted for the lighter 15lb coupler and it's pretty simple to fit and use, as long as you have some shims handy (might be worth ordering a pack to go with the coupler). The build is solid, with an acceptable amount of wiggle at the join, and it's quick to decouple thanks to only needing a 1/8th turn instead of the 1/4 turn that the previous version required, but be aware that it might need a breaking-in period, as if you hold the two halves of the staff at a slight angle they sometimes hang up when you try to separate them, but I think this will lessen with some use. Sound transmission is excellent as well, there's no muffling at all.
So, yeah, I'm happy with mine 😁.
This part was great. Very well machined and fit together quite well. Unfortunately it didn’t fit my lightsabers because they’re not saber forge lightsabers and therefore not the same size thread which I didn’t even think about. Not their fault at all but unfortunately had to return it. But phenomenal machining and customer service overall👍🏻
Highly recommend the 15 lbs spring. I got the 30 and while I am pretty strong, detaching them requires real good leverage. For my purposes, choreographed fight scenes, 15lbs would have been enough.
