Being the owner now of two of these (an Extra Large and now a Large; remember, always measure your waist with your tunics, tabards and obi on!) I have found these to be comparable in quality to some of the regular-quality Etsy-listed belts which can sell for double or even triple the Saberforge price. The detailing and finish are rather simple but very effective and suited for non-face character/OC outfits. The large inner belt is tough and well-finished, suited for holding accessories, sabers and pouches, and the small outer belt is correctly sized and secured with the button studs. The outer belt is perhaps the slightest bit thinner than I would personally like but won't be bearing any hanging loads anyway. The second belt I got is slightly different from the listed and shown at Saberforge, and indicates improvements and changes from Ravenswood Leather to the item; the small outer belt is no longer a "true" belt and is now integrated with hidden rivets into the velcro closure of the inner belt through a small slit, similar to some other adjustable designs. The small belt is no longer adjustable in size at the buckle and the buckle loops are now secured with color-matched staples. Most crucially, the belt now includes a (as noted in other reviews, initially *very* tight-fitting!) leather keeper to conceal the velcro and bring the look more in-line with costuming organization standards for these belts. All of these changes are depicted in my included photos. The belt is otherwise as depicted in the listing. It is professionally made, well- fitting with good adjustability (but again, measure first!) and should serve me well in my outfit at Celebration 2027 while not breaking my bank.
So I needed a belt to complete the outfit I made and to showcase the saber I got from Saberforge. It's well made and I like the little buckle at the front. My only complaint is that if you decide to use the D ring leather clip to hang your lightsaber from, the weight of the saber will cause one side of the belt to sag significantly. I was able to rectify this somewhat by moving the clip from the thinner secondary belt to the wider main belt, but the belt is slightly too wide for the clip so there's obviously some visual fitting issues. But the belt doesn't sag with the lightsaber attached so I am happy. I think this could be easily rectified if Ravenswood just increased the size of their leather clip a little more to accommodate the width of the main belt.
This belt and the leather that it is made with look great and it fit perfectly now to give it some wear
The leather quality and finish is better than most, while its ounce weight doesn’t skimp. No signs of mishandling during assembly and the stitch work is perfect. The cover slider is extremely, inhibitively tight, which it needs to be when never used to allow for stretch as it breaks in. Customer service helped correct my order of belt pouches to the correct pouch size for the belt width I ordered. They did not miss a detail. All devices attaching to this belt must attach to the full width, as the inset narrow leather band does not have the stoutness to support weight. Belt is exactly what one should expect to receive from a US made supplier.
