I originally had ordered the Adept during the May 4th sale but they had sold out by the time my order was ready to process, presumably due to the rush of the sale. Customer support reached out and worked with me to find a replacement and refunded me the difference in the model cost.
When it arrived, I noticed it had two slight scuffs on the emitter and pommel and also was missing the hex key. This was a birthday gift, so I didn't have time to do an exchange - which I'm sure they would have offered - but I happened to have a spare key in the same dimension and the birthday boy was fine with the scuffs, thankfully. That said, I have to deduct one star due to poor QC.
Blemishes aside, the build quality is solid and noticeably better than my bargain TXQ beater saber. The First Harvest soundboard may be a huge step down from the latest versions, but it is still loaded with features. One thing I found a bit annoying is that it has two orange, two purple and three pink settings for the blade color but only one red - not sure what they were thinking there.
Saberforge's big claim to fame is their custom parts and modularity, whereas most saber shops are just resellers of mass produced Chinese imports. Handling this one that I bought for my friend has definitely given me the itch to assemble an ASP for myself.
