Looks and performs fantastically... it's just very large and quite heavy for spinning. Kind of like one of those big black metal flashlights. The grooves in the handle are quite deep, so I'll bet a lot of material can be removed, and possibly shorten the overall length by 2 inches and it would be absolutely perfect
Also the pommel doesn't radiate the sound, it actually focuses it straight out of the bottom
One thing i really like is the swing effect on blade effect Classic 2 and 3
The ornamental piece of the emitter above the activation switch was incredibly wobbly and very misaligned on arrival. Upon further inspection the screw appeared to be far to shallow to prevent stripping or other threading damage for the emitter material resulting in an up-welling of material and stripping of the very top of the socket. It fell out minutes later and can't be put back without a longer screw. Unless I can find the screw information I'll have to RMA the saber for repair.
I waited 21 weeks for this saber to arrive due to defects found in production so I am not looking forward to how long the warranty repair process might be for something like this once I get that started.
I really like this saber but the screws for the three emitter shroud pieces really need to be longer to prevent this and that's my only gripe about it!
I ordered my Cleric with the Champion electronics package first, but reconsidered a week later and emailed asking if I could upgrade to Hero + Pixel, which they were able to do with no problem. My saber came a few weeks after the 12-15 weeks listed here, but when I emailed to ask about it I eventually got a response saying that it had failed a quality check so they were going back and fixing some things.
The end result looks to be a very solid lightsaber. The shrouds on my hilt don't have the stripped screws problem that I see reported here and elsewhere, and there's no play in them whatsoever. It is a bit bigger and heavier than I expected -- the site lists the length as 11.8 inches, but with the shrouds I measure it to be 13.5" -- and I'm still getting used to the balance for spinning purposes. But it looks great, and I've gotten many positive comments from friends about it. This is also my first neopixel saber, and I'm having great fun playing around with the various lighting effects.
Great saber, high upgrades in terms of soundboard, only issue is that I had to replace the screws for the emitter as the 3 things would fall off and strip the threads due to short screws and impact during dueling
I know you'll see a bunch of complainers online about Saberforge, but they were nothing but accommodating and responsive, It took a long time to get, but well worth it. This is phenomenal work. I really love this saber, my only regret is not getting a pixel blade. But I wanted that battle ready quality. Still amazing regardless.
Our saber blades (Excluding Pixel blades) are rated for full contact dueling. Capable of withstanding heavy dueling, even against kendo bokkens, and nylon hema wasters. During the machining process, some sabers may develop sharp edges. Before any contact dueling (as with any type of dueling), we recommend wearing proper safety protection for your hands, body and face. This includes but is not limited to: gloves, body armor, face masks, and helmets. Always take the proper safety measures before dueling of any kind. Saberforge is not responsible for any injuries that result from saber play, combat choreography or dueling.
