So I am a huge fan of Star Wars and have wanted a custom saber of my own for a long time. Finally, last month, I pulled the trigger and ordered a custom dueling saber from SaberForge. Massive mistake. I read the reviews. I checked the industry reports. I went through the website. I did the comparisons. I wasted my time. When all was said and done, it took about 4 weeks for my custom saber. Not unusual for a custom order. But oh, the disappontment on delivery. Firstly, the package showed up in a long, beat-up cardboard box that looked like it had been hastily thrown together by whoever was last out the door at the end of business that day and was only interested in going home. It was a chaos of folds, buckles, and clear packing tape that ran in just about every direction a compass can point, but just random. Tip: if your package arrives looking like the company didn't give a damn about it, they probably didn't. Next, was the actual saber hilt itself. There is no box for their products. No presentation. No anything. The packing box was empty except for the hilt wrapped in a scrap of bubble wrap, and held together with a piece of blue painter's tape. Now, I don't expect some fancy hard-side, lockable engraved presentation case(unless you bought that with it), but if I go down to WalMart and buy anything, even a chinese knock-off watch, it will have some sort of boxing, labeling, instruction manual, whatever. SaberForge? Nah, not them. Just brown packing paper and a bubble wrap blob. Oh, and of course, the long shipping box it came in? that WOULD have been to fit the pixel blade I ordered with it. Again, just packing paper and the bubble wrap blob, no blade. If you are any kind of Star Wars fan, collector, saber enthusiast, or such and really understand the excitement and feeling you get when receiving your very own brand-new custom lightsaber, it almost feels like you have just passed the Trials and are now a full Jedi(or Sith) and your adventure begins now. But, I can explain it to you best in this way: I was so disappointed in the epic fail of my order, I haven't even opened the wrapped hilt to see it because I am fearful that this tragedy could get worse. It sits, just as it arrived, in a beat-up shipping box in the corner of my office. Emails to the "help" desk or whatever they think is customer service are, have gone unanswered. Long story short(too late, I know). Do not buy from SaberForge, THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU.
