I'm not a saber connoisseur in any way. I don't have other sabers to compare the light or sound quality but they seem great to me. Can't speak for dueling capabilities as I have no intention of using it for that purpose. I've cycled through most of the different lights and sounds and love this thing. I'd give it 6 stars if I could simply for the fact that one of the BGM snippets is the friggin JURASSIC PARK THEME. Whether intentional or accidental, I laughed like an idiot at this stroke of genius and greatly appreciate it. I wanted a cheaper option for my first saber and I was not disappointed
I'm really bummed to have to write a 1 star review, but I ordered this lightsaber and have had a terrible experience with it so far. So I guess I will make a list of the issues I have with my order in hopes that the visibility will lead to a solution, and with the problem resolved maybe I can change my mind about the quality of this lightsaber, and SaberForge as a whole.
-Issues when I opened my lightsaber:
1. The lightsaber came with no allen key, screws, or acrylic stand and the foam insert in the box was broken into two pieces.
2. The lightsaber has little flashes of green sparks, and makes a collision noise before being turned on completely.
3. The blade is not nearly as bright as it should be.
4. The battery and circuit board overheat when put on a charger.
The reason I know that all of these are problems with my order is because my girlfriend ordered the TXQ Fury lightsaber from SaberForge, and none of the issues present with my order were there for hers. She even ordered hers a day after mine and they came in on the same day even though we both paid for 2 Day FedEx shipping on separate days.
I tried swapping the SN Pixel Blade from my lightsaber into hers, and the blade had zero issues, it even looked better than it did on my hilt. So I am led to believe that this is an issue with the hilt, and its internal electronics. I really like the look of the hilt, and would hate to have to return it all together and go with another company. Halloween is approaching, and I need to start getting used to the features and weight of the lightsaber before I start doing combat choreography with other people. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I don't this to be a straight up hate review, I'm just hoping that by being open about my experience we can fix my problem, and avoid it from happening to anyone else.
Our saber blades (Excluding Pixel blades) are rated for full contact dueling. Capable of withstanding heavy dueling, even against kendo bokkens, and nylon hema wasters. During the machining process, some sabers may develop sharp edges. Before any contact dueling (as with any type of dueling), we recommend wearing proper safety protection for your hands, body and face. This includes but is not limited to: gloves, body armor, face masks, and helmets. Always take the proper safety measures before dueling of any kind. Saberforge is not responsible for any injuries that result from saber play, combat choreography or dueling.
