Datacron is flawless; RGB base...not so much.

Pros:
The Datacron itself is pretty much flawless. Accurate cuts and construction. Clean and detailed design. It's very believable and I absolutely love it.

Cons:
Would have rated 5 stars except for the one key con: the included RGB base. It is a really odd choice on SaberForge's part. It's cheap plastic and see-through so you literally see the batteries and all. It negates the purpose of even having a light-up base as the light streams through the base itself and outward underneath the Datacron--completely shattering the illusion of the Datacron which meant to be the only thing grabbing your attention.

The LED dots are also quite distracting as they shine upwards through the bottom of the Datacron and thusly are reflected as dots on all the inner walls. Some people might like this effect as they can look like trippy floating orbs at the right angle, but it's not for me. The LED needs to be a solid panel design and more diffused to have the desired effect. I literally wrapped the base with black mechanic tape as a temporary solution until find a better one.

There's a peel off brown material left on the bottom of the Datacron. There are no instructions or comments on the product page telling you to remove it. I thought it seemed off, so I carefully started to remove it and did find that it is a mirror like bottom, so I assumed I was definitely supposed to remove that brown sticker-like backing. Where this does enhance the light inside the Datacron, it also make the dot LEDs orb effect even more distracting.

Suggestion:
There's several inexpensive solutions for the base.
1)There could be a simple circular tin or cut plastic basin to just drop the base inside. It could look metal, all black...anything but seeing the base itself. It could really be any shape or size as long as the base fits inside.
2) Offer an option not including the base for a bit less money
3) Offer an option w/ a basic, yet well-designed base made by SaberForge at a similar price point

Alright, that's all!
