I ordered the 30 lbs apprentice QD coupler, but was accidentally sent an elite one. I emailed a picture of the part & the invoice to customer support, & they sere really quick to respond with a return label. I sent it back the next day. Turnaround was 18 days total to get the correct coupler.

I’m honestly glad it happened because customer support was awesome. Friendly, helpful, expedient. They really knocked it out of the park. It’s rare to feel like a company truly values your business & feedback. I love to see it!

As for the coupler itself. It’s pretty cool. The two halves look great on the sabers as pommels. You push-in & turn them to lock them into place. You can do that in one quarter turns to position them how you want.

The lock-up between the halves is tight & won’t move around on you. There is some wobble/play for the portion that holds the spring. It’s slight but noticeable. It doesn’t affect the function in any way.

There’s also holes that allow sound from the speakers to come through without sounding muffled. Overall it’s a clever feature & a lot of fun to play with.

This quick disconnect coupler actually disconnects quickly with a very specific motion; it can't be disconnected by accident. After a little practice it is very easy to disconnect it. When disconnected it requires an extra tug to actually pull the sabers apart so it allows you disconnect it in advance, throw a few strikes and then disconnect it in a moments notice. They advertise this one as their lightweight version but it really takes significant force to undo; I would imagine the heavy one would actually be more difficult to use on the fly. Perfect for solid dueling and choreographed performances.
